Gianluca Ginoble

Gianluca Ginoble is the youngest member of Il Volo and the only baritone (Piero and Ignazio are both tenors). He was born on February 11, 1995 in Roseto degli Abruzzi, in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. His family lives in a nearby small hilltop town called Montepagano. He is the oldest son of Ercole Ginoble and Eleonora Di Vittorio. He has a younger brother, Ernesto (Erny). He started to sing when he was just 3 years old with his grandfather Ernesto at the square of his village. His grandad owns a bar there, the ”Bar Centrale”. At an early age he participated in several music festivals and competitions in his region, winning some and being distinguished in all, thanks to his beautiful deep voice. On May 2, 2009 Gianluca Ginoble won the Italian talent show on Rai1 ‘’Ti Lascio Una Canzone’’ singing Andrea Bocelli’s “Il mare calmo della sera”; he was only 14 years old! He is technically a Baritone, but he can also be labeled as a Heldentenor (a Baritone with a strong upper register, common among Wagner operas). He is the most serious of the three, a bit shy and a real perfectionist. As he always admits himself, his character is completely different compared to the Sicilian temperament of Piero and Ignazio. But he also has a loose side, he is known in the group for his impersonations of Eros Ramazzotti. His celebrity crush is Natalie Portman and his favorite artists are Andrea Bocelli, Justin Tiberlake, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Mario Lanza, Michael Bublé. In social media Gianluca is the most active of the three, publishing continuously romantic thoughts and aphorisms, sharing preferences in terms of music and movies and also driving the #ilvolovers crazy with his famous selfies! In an interview he commented that as a good luck ritual before going on stage they hold hands and scream 3 times SHIT! :-) Gianluca loves soccer. He used to play in his hometown and he’s even known as the “Maradona of Montepagano”. His favorite Italian soccer team is AS Roma and he’s a big fan of Francesco Totti (he also admires Leo Messi from FC Barcelona). His favorite color is blue and he is always in fashion, in a classy way. He is very proud of the Italian food. He loves it and claims to be the best food in the world. As he recently stated on Twitter, pizza is his girlfriend! :-) Gianluca is a lovely young man of classic beauty, well-mannered and educated, talented and with a strong reference to family values. He has a romantic and engaging stage presence and he expresses himself in a sincere and spontaneous way, demonstrating passion for what he does and for the world around him.
